Down Syndrome Information Alliance

Down Syndrome Information Alliance DSIA provides support and resources to empower individuals with Down syndrome, their families, and our community.

We envision a community where people with Ds are empowered, respected as individuals, and accepted as valued participants in their community. DSIA was founded in 2004 by three families seeking greater access to support, information, and services in our community. Since then, we’ve grown as a dedicated non-profit organization serving Sacramento, Yolo, Placer, El Dorado, Nevada, Yuba, and Sutter cou

nties. We envision a community where people with Down syndrome are empowered, respected as individuals, and accepted as valued participants in neighborhood schools, community activities, and the business world.

TIP TUESDAY: Stay Informed About Down Syndrome & Alzheimer’s Research!

Did you know that people with Down syndrome are at increased risk for Alzheimer’s disease—and researchers are making important progress in understanding and treating Down syndrome-associated Alzheimer’s disease (DS-AD)?

Join this FREE webinar with Dr. Beau Ances, a neurologist and leading researcher from Washington University in St. Louis, as he shares an update on current clinical trials in DS-AD.

Tuesday, September 15, 2026, 6:00–7:30 PM ET

You’ll learn:
Why clinical research matters
What participation in upcoming clinical trials may involve
Why families choose to participate
Why researchers are optimistic about the future of DS-AD research

Whether you’re simply curious, considering clinical research for a loved one, or want to better understand where research is headed, this is a great opportunity to learn, ask questions, and stay informed.
