Proud to support SB 907, which just passed the Assembly Floor with strong bipartisan support.

There are always alternatives to driving after drinking. Too many families have paid the price when someone chose otherwise.

This bill raises penalties for hit-and-run drivers with prior DUI or reckless convictions and requires clearer warnings that another impaired drive can mean a murder charge.

Safer roads start with stronger laws.

I’m proud to coauthor AB 2066, which recognizes pregnancy as a qualifying life event for special enrollment in individual health insurance plans. This bill would give women 60 days to apply for coverage after becoming pregnant.
I believe women should have access to health coverage when they need it most.

Copper wire theft shuts down streetlights, disrupts phone and internet service and costs businesses and taxpayers money.

I am proud to be part of a bipartisan effort through AB 1941 to give law enforcement more tools to go after organized metal theft.

We can protect our neighborhoods, support local businesses and protect taxpayer dollars at the same time.

Proud to stand this morning with victim families, probation chiefs, law enforcement, and colleagues at the Capitol.

Too many California families have paid the ultimate price because of unresolved gaps in our juvenile justice system. After critical public-safety measures like AB 2040 (Lorenzo’s Law) and SB 1157 were blocked from even receiving a floor vote, silence is not an option.

Parents like Julia Sanchez deserve more than promises. They deserve real accountability, stronger statewide standards, and meaningful oversight—so that less-restrictive programs and the most serious cases are handled with both rehabilitation and public safety in mind.

This fight did not begin this year, and it will not end until we finish the work Sacramento started. I remain committed to keeping this issue front and center for the families who refuse to let another mother bury her child without justice.

Sacramento Democrats keep selling bills as “affordability” fixes without asking what they actually cost families.

Fiscal analyses only count the cost to the government; almost never the cost to drivers, renters, and small businesses that are already stretched thin.

That’s why I joined my colleagues in asking the Legislative Analysts Office (LAO) for a real number on what these mandates will cost YOU, the public.

Californians deserve honest math, not just more rules.
