California LGBTQ Health & Human Services Network Statewide coalition of nonprofit providers, community centers and researchers collectively advocating for policies & resources to advance LGBTQ health in CA.

As a Network of multidisciplinary organizations serving California’s diverse lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) communities, we are working together to achieve changes that will improve the health and wellness of LGBT people, families, and communities. We agree that the following principles will guide our work together:

- Foster an inclusive and open process

- Commit to wor

k and communicate in a spirit of collaboration and cooperation

- Address issues of those not at the table including those most in need and most vulnerable

- Focus on structural change and systems change work that seeks to create long term, in depth change

- Emphasize the strengths and resilience of LGBT people and not just a deficit-based model

Every month, the CA LGBTQ Health and Human Services Network hosts a monthly call to update statewide partners and community members regarding LGBTQ+ health-related legislation, events, and opportunities for engagement.

This month's Network call will focus on LGBTQ+ research. A few guest speakers will join us to highlight research in the mental health field, discuss how to engage with and support the Local Environments and Alcohol Study, and we will present the updated We Breathe Policy Platform!

We Breathe is hosting a virtual panel featuring disabled LGBTQ+ community members sharing their lived experiences, insights, and perspectives. Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of the unique challenges and strengths within our communities while learning ways to better support disabled LGBTQ+ folx.

Happy Pride Month from the California LGBTQ Health & Human Services Network! 🌈

As we celebrate Pride, we honor Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera, whose leadership sparked the movement and made today’s Pride celebrations possible. We carry their legacy forward by protecting our communities and showing up for one another.

And if you’re able to vote… Y’ALL BETTER VOTE TOMORROW. 🗳️

Voting is one way we push back against the relentless attacks targeting transgender, gender-diverse, and intersex communities. Across the country, anti-trans bills and harmful rhetoric are threatening access to healthcare, bodily autonomy, safety, and the right for TGI individuals to exist openly in everyday life.

This training is co-hosted by our partners TransFamily Support Services, Alliance for TransYouth Rights, Transgender Law Center, and Equality California. Together, we will focus on building and empowering practical advocacy skills in our community. 🗣️✊

Attendees will learn how to speak with elected officials, write op-eds, engage with media, and navigate meaningful conversations within the trans community.

They use a feminist abolitionist perspective, centering joy, resiliency, and q***rness. While bars and nightlife are visible parts of LGBTQ+ culture, we also deserve spaces that don’t center substances.

Third spaces—like book clubs, coffee shop meetups, study groups, or fitness classes—offer welcoming, often low-cost ways to connect and build community. These spaces matter, especially for folks navigating financial barriers or seeking sober environments. Let’s keep creating spaces where everyone can show up as they are.
