The next Big Day of Giving is on May 6, 2027. Big Day of Giving is made possible by the hard work of local nonprofits and the dedication of their supporters.

Big Day of Giving is the Sacramento region's day-long giving challenge that has raised over $132 million for area nonprofits since 2013, hosted by the Sacramento Region Community Foundation! A program of the Sacramento Region Community Foundation's initiative to grow philanthropy in the capital area, Big Day of Giving is a 24-hour online giving challenge that brings together the region's nonprofit

community to help raise much needed unrestricted funds and shine a spotlight on the work nonprofits do to make the Sacramento region the place we call home.

Our Senior Director of Philanthropy, Chelsea Fahr, said it best: "Leading an education session at was a wonderful experience sharing philanthropic resources and trends. Happy ! Today, we celebrate local organizations protecting our environment and, in turn, our communities. 🩷 Check out a couple of our staff members' favorites below!

✨ Chelsea, Senior Director of Philanthropy, says: " Basin Foundation provides wonderful educational programs and environmental stewardship. Our family recently attend one of their evening Bat Talks and Tours and loved learning about and viewing the incredible Mexican free-tailed bats living under of the Yolo Causeway."
✨ Jasmine, Senior Communications Coordinator, says: "I support 350 Sacramento because they do amazing work in advocacy in our community. They believe in a world with a safe climate, where nature is respected and protected, and our social, political, and economic systems work for all people and the planet, and they help me to believe, too!"
✨ Monica, Director of Community Impact, says: "I love that the Center for Land-Based Learning is working at the intersection of agriculture and environment, and working with farmers and land owners to restore native habitat for pollinators through the SLEWS program."

Report to the Community Highlight | Children's Choice for Hearing And Talking Cchat Center Sacramento
⁠
CCHAT is a highly specialized program for children who are deaf and hard of hearing from birth through third grade, with the unique goal of developing age-appropriate listening and spoken language skills so they can successfully transition into mainstream neighborhood schools alongside their hearing peers. During this year's Big Day of Giving, 187 donors raised $76,170 for CCHAT Center, exceeding its $60,000 goal!

📈 During , the average number of donations per nonprofit was 70, and nonprofits raised an average of $16,612 each. Out of all of the online giving payment methods, credit cards were the most popular, making up 66.5% of all online dollars raised, followed by Apple Pay at 15.7%. PayPal was third, making up 12.8% of online dollars raised, followed by Google Pay at 4.5% and Venmo at 0.4%.
