☀️Summer 2026 Family First Prevention Services Town Hall: Partnership in Prevention Practice

This session will explore how Family First Prevention Services implementation aligns with local System of Care efforts and how cross-sector partnerships can strengthen child and family well-being through greater collaboration, alignment, and shared responsibility.

Discussion topics include:

✨ Continuous Quality Improvement training
✨ Partnership Agreements
✨ Shared outcomes for child and family well-being
✨ Practical strategies like warm handoffs, shared decision making, and strengthening family engagement

🌿 We're taking a moment to breathe.

In the spirit of mental health awareness month, the Child Abuse Prevention Center team will be stepping away to rest and recharge. Our office will be closed from May 23rd through May 31st.

We know that sustainable support starts with a healthy team. We can't pour from an empty cup, and we are committed to showing up for California's families at our very best.

We will return on June 1st, refreshed and ready! Thank you for your patience and understanding. 💛💜

📢 AB 2441 - Held in Committee

Through months of strong advocacy, CFRA advanced AB 2441 further than many anticipated in one of the most challenging budget climates. On May 14th, the Assembly Appropriations Committee did not vote to move the bill forward. A setback, but not a stop.

This work is never lost. Every relationship built, every conversation held, and every voice raised strengthens the foundation we'll stand on next session.

⏰ Deadline: May 22nd and we need ✨YOUR✨ organization's name on our coalition letter.

SB 557 is simple, no-cost to the state, and powerful. It aligns California's definition of Family Resource Centers with the new federal definition — opening the door to future federal funding and giving us the platform to tell our stories to the policymakers who need to hear them.

We passed the Senate unanimously in February. The Assembly Human Services Committee votes in early June. Let's keep it going.
