Join us on Saturday, June 28, from 10:00 AM–12:00 PM at Pannell Community Center for this year’s State of District 8, themed “Community Is Our Power.”

Each year, State of District 8 is an opportunity to reflect on our accomplishments, share what’s ahead, and celebrate the residents, businesses, organizations, educators, artists, and youth leaders who make our community strong.

⏰ 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM
📍 Open to all City of Sacramento residents

✅ Accepted items include:
• Mattresses & box springs
• Tires & rims (limitations apply)
• Select household appliances
• E-waste (TVs, computers, electronics)
• Paint, batteries, oils, and other household hazardous waste
• General household garbage and bulky waste

❌ No trailers, commercial vehicles, refrigerators, air conditioners, concrete, dirt, or construction debris.

Every community has stories worth preserving.📚🔏

is a community storytelling project by artist that honors the lives, memories, and cultural traditions of Manitos y Manitas del Sur, a grassroots group of Spanish-speaking elders who have gathered at the Pannell Community Center for nearly 30 years.

Join Janine on May 30 for the Fiesta Latina fundraiser hosted by supporting the completion of the documentary film and bilingual book. You can also support by donating, volunteering, sharing the project, or becoming a sponsor.
