***REPARATIONS CALL TO ACTION***
STOP THE STUDY! STOP THE STALL! Tell CA Assemblymembers to VOTE NO ON SB437!
SB437 is a bill that, if passed and signed into law, would WASTE millions of your tax dollars on an unnecessary 3-5 year study of Reparations genealogy that even genealogists say is unnecessary! California's Reparations Task Force, which already spent 2 years researching and studying issues including genealogy and Reparations, made it clear: We don't need to STUDY how to do genealogy for Reparations; we need to hire genealogists to DO genealogy!
It gets worse. If SB437 becomes law, it could mean no other state bill, program, or resource for descendants of persons emancipated from U.S Chattel Slavery can happen until this research (that we don't need) is complete. So SB 437 could STALL Reparations and other much-needed resources for YEARS!
