Last year in California, speeders killed 1,303 people. The California Highway Patrol is cracking down on speeding and using the DMV to quickly revoke drivers’ licenses.

Celebrating National Dog Day today with gratitude for the unconditional love, loyalty and joy that my rescue dogs bring to my life!

I want to recognize the amazing rescue organizations that work tirelessly every day to protect and rehabilitate animals in need. For years, I’ve adopted from Southern California Golden Retriever Rescue, and I am grateful for the work they do to provide love and care for every dog in their care.

Adopting my dogs has been such a meaningful experience, and I encourage anyone considering a pet to explore local adoption options.

I had the opportunity to visit the Laguna Art-A-Fair and meet with President Robert Ross, to learn all about history and art of this beloved festival.

Celebrating 60 years, the Laguna Art-A-Fair showcases unique artwork from over 115 award-winning artists from across the globe. I loved discovering the personal stories behind the creators and their work.

As a lead author of AB 1267, I am proud to share that this important piece of legislation has passed the Assembly Judiciary Committee.

85% of these marriages involve girls under the age of 18 marrying older men.

I am proud to continue the fight to protect our children and stand alongside Girl Scouts to end child marriage in California.

I join my colleague, Senator Tony Strickland, in calling for the immediate resignation of the full California Energy Commission.

Earlier this week, the California Energy Commission (CEC) unanimously approved a ban on the sale of 70% of tires sold in the State.

This policy will hurt Californians in the midst of our state's affordability crisis. It's time for these unelected bureaucrats to walk away. Their "public service" will not be missed.

Over the weekend, I was delighted to join the Newport Bay Conservancy for their annual “Gourmet by the Bay” event! The Conservancy does an amazing job in sustaining the diversity of marine, plant and animal life in the Upper Newport Bay. Thank you to the Board, staff and volunteers for their unwavering dedication to protecting this great resource in our community. Their invaluable work ensures a lasting legacy for generations to come.
