As we wrap up Women's History Month and Farmworker Awareness Week, we're proud to spotlight another woman who leads and whose work directly impacts farmworkers across California: Victoria Hassid, Board Chair of .ca. The ALRB protects the rights of agricultural employees to collectively bargain for better wages and working conditions. Victoria is deeply committed to her work in public service and, just as her mother inspired her, she hopes to inspire talented individuals to join public service and make a real difference in the lives of millions across California.

Her advice for women professionals? "Network and find mentors.” And “don't be afraid that every decision determines your entire career." Victoria’s own path has been full of unpredictable turns, leading to her current role.

Who inspires her most? Her mom, an attorney who persevered through a time when women were often discounted. "Despite having to constantly prove herself simply because she was a woman, she loved public service and inspired that in me."
