A great young man!

Today’s Panther Football Spotlight is on Eli Reed!

He writes, “Hi my name is Eli Reed. I am 17 years old and I am a senior at Clarksville. I recently moved back to Clarksville for my senior year. I have been playing football since 3rd grade and love every minute of it. Off the field I like fishing, playing my guitar and hanging out and playing basketball with my friends. I was born in Georgia and my favorite sports team is the Georgia Bulldogs. I plan on making sure I finish high school strong with good grades. I am excited to start college next year and plan on attending Arkansas Tech. I want to say thank you to all my coaches and teammates for treating me as their own. I look forward to to the rest of my senior year.”

From his position coach, “It is a tough thing to come in late and get in the groove of things, but he has stepped in and stepped up. He has helped us this year on defense. Glad he moved here to be a Panther. He is a smart defensive player that has had to learn our defense since the summer.”

Nice to meet you!

Today’s Panther Football Spotlight is on Jared “Jerry” Riordan!

He writes, “My name in Jared Riordan. I was born and raised in Woburn, MA for the first 14 years of my life. I played football there from the 4th grade until the 8th grade. When I moved here in 9th grade, I didn’t know anyone and I decided not to play football that year. I joined back in 10th grade after thinking it over during the summer and have loved it ever since. At first, I knew no one on the team and throughout the year I learned about everyone and made even more friends. The coaches are each there always for when we need help or have questions. They always push us to strive to be better. Another activity I do is play in the band, where there are great people and teachers to be around. Outside of school I hang out with friends, help my siblings with things they need done, and help my brother in baseball and football. It’s great seeing him play sports he loves while having fun. Even though I’m not decided on what I want to be I know that the lessons that have been taught to us throughout our years in school will help us later when we most need them. Knowing my parents are proud of me in what I’m doing helps me keep doing the things I want to do. These have been a great 2-3 years in Clarksville and I wouldn’t trade it out, after I graduate I will look back on these memories and remember how great they were no matter how old I get.”

From his coach, “Jared is one of the most likable kids on our team. I’d tease him about being a Yankee except he might try to whip me because he is a diehard BoSox fan! He is active in practice and we rarely have to teach him anything twice. He asks good questions, as well. God brings a lot of people to Clarksville and I’m thankful he brought us ‘the Massachusetts Mangler.’”

If you’ve not yet had the pleasure, meet Jared Riordan, ladies and gentlemen!

Today’s Panther Football Spotlight is on Chandler McKissack!

He writes, “My name is Chandler Mckissack. I am a Sophomore and I am 15 years old. I have attended the Clarksville School District since Kindergarten. I am an honor student, a member of Clarksville CSU, The Beta Club, and I play the trombone in the Clarksville Panther Band. In addition to my activities at school, I am a very active member of FBC Clarksville’s Youth Group. I have played football for the Panthers since 7th grade and enjoyed every minute of it. I have waited for my chance to be under the Friday night lights, nothing beats it! I come from a long line of football players in my family, as two of my great uncles were professional football players and one of them even has a Super Bowl ring. This has inspired me to be the best football player I can be. I look to the next two years as a Panther Football Player, and I know what is happening in the program right now will bring success on and off the field. Upon graduation my plans after High School are to attend a university and become a Veterinarian or a Marine Biologist.”

From his position coach “Chandler is one of those kids that is smart enough to learn every position on the field. He is good to have around for others know they can turn to him for help. He has a ready smile and is a great kid!”

Hey, Noah!

This week’s Panther Spotlight is on Noah Wright!

He writes, “My name is Noah Wright and I’m a Junior at Clarksville High School. I play linebacker and tight end for the football team. I have played football since the 3rd grade. Football means a lot to me because I love the game and it teaches a lot of life lessons. My favorite part of football is going to practice everyday with my buddies. Outside of school, I like to be outdoors. I like going hunting and fishing. I like going out to eat with girlfriend and listening to music together in my truck. I also play outfield for the baseball team and I am in Beta club. My favorite class is Coach Fetters’s Geography class. I am looking forward to another year in high school and another year of football with my friends and coaches.”

From his position coach, “Noah is a very sharp kid, whose football IQ is very high. We put him in a variety of positions and he always ends up in the right spot.”
