Nice to meet you!
Today’s Panther Football Spotlight is on Jared “Jerry” Riordan!
He writes, “My name in Jared Riordan. I was born and raised in Woburn, MA for the first 14 years of my life. I played football there from the 4th grade until the 8th grade. When I moved here in 9th grade, I didn’t know anyone and I decided not to play football that year. I joined back in 10th grade after thinking it over during the summer and have loved it ever since. At first, I knew no one on the team and throughout the year I learned about everyone and made even more friends. The coaches are each there always for when we need help or have questions. They always push us to strive to be better. Another activity I do is play in the band, where there are great people and teachers to be around. Outside of school I hang out with friends, help my siblings with things they need done, and help my brother in baseball and football. It’s great seeing him play sports he loves while having fun. Even though I’m not decided on what I want to be I know that the lessons that have been taught to us throughout our years in school will help us later when we most need them. Knowing my parents are proud of me in what I’m doing helps me keep doing the things I want to do. These have been a great 2-3 years in Clarksville and I wouldn’t trade it out, after I graduate I will look back on these memories and remember how great they were no matter how old I get.”
From his coach, “Jared is one of the most likable kids on our team. I’d tease him about being a Yankee except he might try to whip me because he is a diehard BoSox fan! He is active in practice and we rarely have to teach him anything twice. He asks good questions, as well. God brings a lot of people to Clarksville and I’m thankful he brought us ‘the Massachusetts Mangler.’”
If you’ve not yet had the pleasure, meet Jared Riordan, ladies and gentlemen!
