🏈 It’s Game Day in Alvin ISD!

We kicked off the morning with FOX 26’s Nate Griffin Griffin as we prepare for tonight’s historic matchup between the Iowa Colony Pioneers and Manvel Mavericks, the first time these two Alvin ISD high schools will face each other on the football field!

We started the morning at Iowa Colony, and the Pioneers brought the ENERGY! 🔥 Now, we’re headed over to Manvel to see if the Mavericks are ready to match it!

Two schools. One district. A historic Friday night under the lights. 🏈

Who’s ready for Iowa Colony vs. Manvel tonight?!

Senate Bill 204, passed by the 89th Texas Legislature during the 2025 Regular Session, added Texas Education Code §11.159(b-2), requiring the State Board of Education to develop parental rights training for school board trustees.

In April 2026, the SBOE adopted the new training, which is now available through TEA Learn. The course provides trustees with important information regarding the rights of parents in the education of their children and the responsibilities of school boards under Texas law.

I’m pleased to share that I have successfully completed the SBOE Parental Rights Training for School Board Trustees and satisfied the training requirement by the established deadline.

Continuing to learn, remain informed, and understand the laws governing public education is an important part of faithfully serving students, families, educators, and our community.

When I campaigned for the Alvin ISD Board of Trustees, I was adamant that good enough is never good enough. We must always strive to move from good to great.

One of my former college professors often said, “Good, better, best. Never let it rest until your good becomes better and your better becomes best.”

I am incredibly proud that Alvin ISD is on the climb! This year, our district earned a B rating, reflecting the hard work of our students, educators, staff, families, and community.

Now, let’s keep climbing. Together, let’s B the reason Alvin ISD is on its way to an A! 💛🏆

There’s a lot to celebrate in Alvin ISD! The 2025–26 Accountability Ratings are in, and Alvin ISD earned an overall B rating with a score of 86, continuing our upward momentum from an 84 last year and an 81 in 2023–24.

Across the district, we’re also proud to celebrate 12 A-rated campuses and 19 B-rated campuses!

This year’s theme is WE SEE YOU, and these results give us another reason to recognize the incredible work happening throughout Alvin ISD.

We see and thank our Board of Trustees for their vision, leadership, and continued commitment to creating opportunities for every student to succeed.

We see our students working hard and achieving at high levels. We see our teachers and staff showing up every day with dedication and purpose. We see our families and community supporting our schools and helping our students succeed.
Alvin ISD, WE SEE YOU — and we are proud of you!
