Friends of Hobbs State Park Friends of Hobbs supports Hobbs' educational programs and mission with volunteerism and fundraising.

SEASONAL INTERPRETER POSITIONS are now open in State Parks across The Natural State, for 6-9 month assignments. All are considered part-time, but you can expect a 35-40 hour work week during peak visitation season. These positions can count for college internship credit. On-the-job training will be provided.

DO YOU LOVE INSPIRING OTHERS IN THE OUTDOORS? Most parks offer 3-5 programs per day in summer, and on weekends throughout the year.

YOUR DUTIES MAY INCLUDE: Developing and presenting outdoor recreation programs highlighting your park’s resources. Writing articles and media releases. Researching flora, fauna, and history. Assisting with routine park operations and emergencies when needed.

After the devastating May 2024 tornadoes that impacted Hobbs State Park, the Ozark Plateau Trail was left heavily damaged. Thanks to the vision of park staff and the dedication of longtime volunteers Kris Simpson and Bert Hart, restoration is underway with the planting of new Ozark chinquapins along the trail. 🌱

Using innovative planting methods and years of shared knowledge, this once-devastated area is beginning to heal — helping restore a native species that has long been part of the Ozark landscape. Hobbs’ Ozark chinquapin program wouldn’t be possible without volunteers like Kris and Bert.

TRAIL ACCESS NOTE! 🚧 Starting Monday, May 18 the Tunnel Connector tunnel beneath AR Hwy 12 will be closed for renovations. Barring weather delays, work is expected to be complete by Friday, May 22. During this time, Wolf Den and Karst trails will only be accessible via the Karst Trailhead parking lot and/or Page Sawmill Road.
