Hello Friends!

We wanted to extend gratitude to our community for the opportunity to spend much of 2025 getting to know you and sharing meals, laughs, tears and an abundance of love. Solidarity means to stand together in the worst storms, we are not alone in our struggles or in our joys. 🌅

During the transition out of winter and into this new year, we are taking time to reflect, recharge and rebuild our group to be able to better serve and fight for our community.

We sincerely apologize for the inconsistency with food program & communication during this winter. ❤️‍🩹This winter has been a struggle for a lot of us but as a community, we will always adapt and persevere. Your patience and support has meant the world to us and allows us to continue to grow and learn. Thank you for standing by us. 🫶🖤

With this being said, we would like to state that we will NO longer be working with Jesse’s Mart and are looking for other locations willing to help facilitate our food program. ‼️If you or anyone you know would be willing to host us for a Sunday (or more) then please contact us. (Rock Island Area) ‼️

In the meantime: We have been stopping at Century woods apartments & several other locations for mobile distribution of meals and groceries in Rock Island, if any friends are looking for us please send a message and we will tell you where we are at/come to you in the area. 📍🛒 ❤️🫘🍚🥫🍪🥖🍞

THANK YOU ROCK ISLAND COMMUNITY!!!
We deeply value you, thank you for extending patience while we prepare to move into this new chapter. We will return dedicated to always showing up with intention.

We are donations based & rely on these donations to be able to get food into the hands of those who need it the most. If you have shared prepared meals, groceries, water/juice/milk, baby food & supplies, or monetary support,
we would like to sincerely thank you for these crucial items for our neighbors. The feedback has been overwhelmingly moving. We are always accepting donations, if you donate monetarily and would like to see what supplies we were able to get, we’d love to share!

Please stay tuned as we move forward with this transition and reach out for any comments/concerns❤️ -(formerly) RPC

This weekend was one of those reminders that community is not just a word, it is an action.

While the cold pressed in, The Third Place QC and our incredible volunteers showed up serving warm meals throughout the weekend at the winter emergency shelter at the The Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center run by Project NOW, Inc. What we saw was neighbors caring for neighbors, hands passing plates, smiles exchanged, and gratitude felt in every corner of the room.

A heartfelt thank you to Danny and Donna and their friends, The Revolutionary People's Coalition, The rabbithole, Lisa Garcia, Brian, and every single person who stepped up to make sure our friends were fed. The meals were warm, the welcome was real, and the impact was immediate.

We are also deeply grateful to the anonymous donors who made it possible for some of our unhoused neighbors with pets to stay in hotels, keeping both them and their beloved companions safe from the freezing temperatures. That kind of compassion changes lives.

Our friends were grateful. Their bellies were full. And for a moment, the cold felt a little less heavy because love and community showed up strong.

But our work does not end here. Winter is long, and we must keep showing up, day after day, making sure our neighbors are cared for, supported, and not forgotten through every cold night ahead.

As you are thinking about your year end giving, please consider donating to The Third Place QC. Every dollar helps us fund our operations and keep our doors open for our neighbors who need a safe, welcoming place. You can donate online at www.thethirdplaceqc.org/donate or via Venmo at .
