The Campaign-Rock Island Volunteer Fire Department is a fully volunteer fire and rescue department tasked with providing fire protection, basic technical rescue, and medical first response to the Northeast portion of Warren County, Tennessee. Our first due area includes the Rock Island State Park and the Tennessee Valley Authorities Great Falls Hydro Electric plant and dam. We also are first due t

o approximately 33 miles of recreational waterway. Our annual call volume is roughly 450 calls per year.

By earning this certification, Lucas has demonstrated he has the knowledge and ability to teach and mentor his fellow firefighters—ensuring our department’s high standards are passed down through the ranks.

Lucas serves on C Shift and is pictured here with Captain Joey Kennamer. We are incredibly proud of Lucas for putting in the extra work to become a certified instructor, making our entire team stronger and better prepared.

Today we held a graduation ceremony for the students who completed our 150 Hour Recruit Firefighter Program. Throughout this program students gained knowledge and skills in : CPR, introduction to fire and emergency services, basic firefighting, firefighter survival, Rapid Intervention team operations, Incident command systems, thermal imaging, vehicle extrication, and hazardous materials awareness and operations.

Students completing this entire course will now be eligible to challenge their TN Commision on firefighting test for Hazmat Awareness and Operations, and Firefighter 1.

These students have worked tirelessly to achieve this great success and start their careers in the fire service. This course was all made possible by our subscribers within our servie area, the TN Fire and Codes Academy, and countless hours of hard work and dedication from our instructors, volunteers, and outside instructors.
