Another productive meeting in the books for the Richmond School Board this past Monday night. Some exciting bond updates in this one about remodeling some athletic fields and an update on the other projects going on in the district! Thank you to the staff at Richmond Schools and community for their support and wonderful basket that I received for Board Appreciation!

Special thanks to the community businesses who donated gift cards—Hamlin Pub, J’s Silkscreen, Ken’s Country Kitchen, Village Cafe, Hungry Howies, and Jimmy John’s.

For me, this is what the Richmond community is all about.

The results are in! Michon has been elected to the board!

We would like to thank the entire community for their support throughout these past few months, it is truly humbling.

I would also like to congratulate my fellow candidates that were elected, Bridgette Shuboy, Danielle Sutton, and Margaret Teltow. I am looking forward to working with each of you and the current board members to make Richmond the best district in Macomb County. Again, thank you for your support and go blue!

I wish to thank my slate—Bridgette, Danielle, and Sherri. It has been great working with you on the election. We make an EXCELLENT team. Contrary to others comments, we would all be an asset to the students, staff and community of Richmond Community Schools.

Even though I retired from the district in 2018, I have stayed involved. Below is a list of activities that I have participated in since retirement:

-Subbed for the middle school assistance principal
-Subbed for the high school band teacher at a football game
-Marched in the homecoming parade with the middle school students and worked the homecoming game as an administrator
-Worked at football games selling tickets in the Ticket Booth
-Represented Richmond Schools as a judge at DECA competition
-Member of the Business Department Advisory Committee
-Conducted student interviews for the BMT students
-Attended field trips as a chaperone
-Continue to mentor the Robotics team

If I am fortunate enough to receive your support in November and become a board member, I will continue to volunteer my time to support both the staff and students at Richmond Community Schools.

Just another way to show how our Robotics team stands up to assist in this time of need. I am proud to be a part of this program!

What do robotics team do in the midst of a pandemic? Help one another out. We partnered with our Varsity Football Team (Richmond Blue Devil Football Richmond Blue Devil Athletics) to create and manufacture a spit shield to keep them safe in the field of play! GO BLUE and beat Armada!
