I often talk about this legendary crime fighter, who has a long history of taking a bite out of crime. However, whenever I mention him, there's about a 50/50 chance the person I'm talking to actually knows who he is.

Today, I finally had the opportunity to meet him in person and even shake his hand!

Can you name this crime-fighting legend?

Beautiful day in Downtown Rapid City!

Hanging out with our Public Information Officer, Brendyn Medina, at the Annual Cruiser Car Show!

The weather is fantastic, the cars are looking great, and there are plenty of people out enjoying downtown. If you’re looking for something to do today, come down, say hello, check out some awesome rides, and enjoy this great community event!!

During my time in law enforcement, I personally have had many close calls during traffic stops with vehicles passing dangerously close at brisk speeds.

Situations like that are one of the reasons why Move Over laws were created—to protect law enforcement, first responders, and roadside workers.

Unfortunately, this is also one of those laws that is often forgotten or overlooked.

This post from the South Dakota Highway Patrol is a good reminder for all of us:

Slow down. Move over when safe. Help keep everyone safe.
