Happy Halloween Part 2! 🎃
Lots of excitement at Pen High today! From the amazing school spirit to the cool and creative costumes, students were out in full force supporting all the campus clubs.
I don’t think I realized just how many awesome clubs there are at Pen — from the Book Club and Bug Club to Women in STEM. It was so much fun seeing everyone engaged and enjoying a great Halloween! 👻

Reminder: Tonight is the first community Townhall for the measure SOS bond prioritization. There will be another one taking place next week via Zoom. So far engagement with the school community through the PTA meetings has been successful. Our parents are engaged and have had great suggestions! If you can’t make it to a town hall or PTA meeting please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have suggestions.

Yesterday I had the privilege of participating in Peninsula High School’s annual Walk for Life. I found myself in tears as I listened to the touching stories shared by those who have been impacted by cancer. What really stood out to me was the overwhelming support from the school community. This year over 1000 students came together to show support for their peers whose lives have been affected by cancer. It was a truly emotional and inspiring experience.

Fun day of activities today for Read Across America. My morning started by reading two phenomenal books to a class of fourth graders. At lunchtime, we continued the celebration with a family picnic lunch. Read across America, which is celebrated annually, is a great way to inspire kids to read while celebrating family time. I couldn’t have enjoyed my morning more!

Today, I had the opportunity to visit my daughter’s class, where the students celebrated and presented about holidays from around the world. It was a wonderful experience to learn from the students about Pasko, Diwali, Yule, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and many more. What a valuable learning experience for the students!

Congratulations to all the Cornerstone student of the month winners! It was great seeing all the students so happy and I loved principal Morreale’s positive message encouraging kindness on campus. I especially loved the message to the fifth graders, who she reminded are the leaders of the school leading by setting a positive example for all the other students.
