The community showed up. 🙏

Wednesday night, 250+ of us filled the room for our AANHPI Heritage Month Celebration. Families, performers, and 35+ elected officials and candidates, all under one roof.

We danced. We listened. We broke bread across cultures and generations. We watched our young people lead, and our elders beam with pride.

This is what our power looks like. Not in theory, in that room, on that night, in every face that showed up.

To everyone who came, performed, emceed, sponsored, and helped: thank you. You made this. 💙

And now we carry this energy into November. We are just getting started.

Many Cultures. One America. 🇺🇸

Governor Roy Cooper has always understood something important about North Carolina:

Our diversity is not a weakness.
It is our strength.

We were honored that Roy Cooper took time to record this special message recognizing AANHPI Heritage Month and the immense contributions of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander communities across North Carolina.

From small business owners and healthcare workers to educators, engineers, students, and community leaders, AANHPI communities help power the future of our state every single day.

Governor Cooper’s leadership helped move North Carolina forward with dignity, inclusion, economic growth, and opportunity for all communities.

Now, as he runs for the United States Senate, the stakes are enormous.

This election will shape:

• Healthcare access
• Economic opportunity
• Immigration policy
• Civil rights and protections
• Public education
• The future direction of North Carolina and our country

AANHPI voters are growing rapidly across Wake County and North Carolina, and our voices matter.

Thank you, Governor Cooper, for recognizing our communities and for your continued leadership.

Together, we continue building a stronger and more inclusive North Carolina.

November is closer than you think. These are two of the AANHPI candidates we'll be sending to victory.

Mona Singh - Candidate, Wake County Board of Commissioners

30 years in Cary. 130+ U.S. patents. A career built on solving hard problems. Now Mona Singh for Wake County Commissioner is bringing that same mindset to county government, and AANHPI Wake County is rallying behind her.

Sana Siddiqui - Candidate, Raleigh City Council At-Large

Sana Siddiqui is poised to become one of the first South Asian women on Raleigh City Council. Housing, transit, public safety, the issues that decide whether working families can afford to stay in the city they helped build.

Two women. Two ballots. The future of AANHPI political power in North Carolina.

Join us tomorrow night. Cary Senior Center, 6 PM.

AANHPI leadership in North Carolina isn't confined to one town or one community. From Wake Forest to Charlotte, our neighbors are leading.

Mayor Ben C. Clapsaddle - Town of Wake Forest

Ben made history in November when he was elected Mayor of Wake Forest with over 70% of the vote, becoming believed to be the first Asian American mayor in North Carolina history. The son of a Korean mother, Ben spent nearly 30 years in the United States Army, retiring as a Colonel with the Bronze Star, Legion of Merit, and Combat Action Badge. From the battlefield to one of NC's fastest-growing towns, Ben has spent his entire life in service to this country. Now he's bringing that same commitment to people-first leadership for Wake Forest.

Councilmember Dimple Ajmera - Charlotte City Council

Councilwoman Dimple Ajmera has been a leading AANHPI voice on the Charlotte City Council, championing affordable housing, transit, and a Queen City that works for every neighborhood. Her work has helped pave the way for the next generation of AANHPI leaders across NC.

Two cities. Two stories. One North Carolina.

Join us in honoring Ben, Dimple, and other elected officials this Wednesday, May 27.
Cary Senior Center, 6 PM.

Today, we honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend.
It is a reminder that the freedoms we enjoy today were built on sacrifice, courage, and duty.

As Americans, and as members of the AANHPI community, we remember those who never came home and the families who carry that loss every day.

Their service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

May we continue working toward a country worthy of their sacrifice.

Happy Memorial Day from the AANHPI Caucus of the North Carolina Democratic Party.🇺🇸

Western Wake is changing. Apex and Morrisville are home to some of the largest AANHPI communities in North Carolina, and their councils are starting to reflect that.

Sue Mu - Apex Town Council

Sue Mu, Apex Town Council Member, is the first AANHPI voice on the Apex Town Council, and she's helping shape one of the fastest-growing towns in the country.

Ash*t Patel - Morrisville Town Council

Ash*t Patel for Morrisville brings deep community roots and a builder's mindset to a town that's now more than a third South Asian. He's making sure growth serves the people who actually live here.

Satish Garimella - Morrisville Town Council

Satish Garimella has been a steady voice for the AANHPI community in Morrisville for years, and he's helped make local government a place where our neighbors feel they belong.

Three leaders. Two towns. One growing movement.

Join us in honoring Council Members Mu, Garimella, Patel, and 40+ other elected officials this Wednesday, May 27.

Cary is one of the most diverse towns in North Carolina, and its leadership is finally starting to reflect that.

Sarika Bansal - Cary Town Council

Sarika Bansal is part of a new generation of AANHPI leaders building the Cary that reflects who actually lives here. Schools, growth, transit, and a town that works for every family - she's in the room making the case.

Bella Huang - Cary Town Council

Bella Huang - Cary Town Council District brings the voice of Cary's fast-growing Chinese American community to the council table, and she's proof that local government is where change starts. Public safety, housing, parks, the daily work that shapes our neighborhoods.

Two women. One town. Real representation.

Join us in honoring Council Members Bansal, Huang, and 40+ other elected officials this Wednesday, May 27.
