If you plan to seek relief from the increase in temperatures by recreating in an area lake, river, or stream, remember the water is still COLD. Our lakes, rivers, and streams are fed by snowmelt, and the water remains significantly colder than the surrounding air. Be sure to wear a life jacket because water at these temperatures can cause cold water paralysis and lead to drowning.
