PLEASE SHARE: Law Enforcement at George W. Munroe Elementary School

At approximately 2:04 p.m, the George Munroe Elementary School administration issued a Code Red Lockdown after gunshots were heard near the school. Local law enforcement and the district’s Safe School officer arrived on campus to help secure it.

At 2:16 p.m., law enforcement confirmed there was no weapon or active shooter on campus and lifted the Intrado alert. Law Enforcement and Safe Schools remained on campus until approximately 2:40 p.m. to ensure that students and staff could safely resume their end-of-school-day activities.

The safety and well-being of our students, faculty, and staff remain the Gadsden County School District’s highest priority. We will continue to work closely with law enforcement and follow all established safety protocols whenever a potential threat or concern arises.

🚨 SERVICE INTERRUPTION NOTICE

Please be advised that a major fiber cut in the Midway area has impacted phone and internet services at Gadsden County HS and Havana Magnet.

Our service provider has been contacted and is actively working to restore service.

These issues have caused temporary interruptions the phone and internet services.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as the service providers work to resolve the issue and restore connectivity as quickly as possible.
