250 Years of Winning Our Nation's Battles

For one quarter of a millennium, we have defended our country. From the birth of our nation during the American Revolution, to the end of the Global War on Terror, our role as a naval-based amphibious force has played a defining role in turning the tides of each conflict into our Nation’s favor.

We have fought in every clime and place, and we maintain readiness to continue to be America's 9-1-1 anytime and anywhere we are called upon. Here's to the next 250.

Semper Fidelis & Happy Birthday, Marines!

For 250 years, The United States Marine Corps has been America’s 9-1-1 force.

From sea to shore, the Marines and Sailors of I Marine Expeditionary Force (I MEF), supported by the U.S. Navy Commander, U.S. Third Fleet, executed the largest amphibious operation in more than thirty years, demonstrating unmatched readiness, precision, and teamwork, during the Marine Corps 250th Amphibious Capabilities Demonstration.

Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, The Secretary of the Navy, and Commandant of the Marine Corps Eric Smith were all in attendance to watch the occasion and deliver remarks.

We send a clear message to allies, partners, and adversaries alike: the United States maintains the world’s most lethal and adaptable maritime force — ready to respond anytime, anywhere, in any domain.
