Since our inception in 1976, Center scientists and researchers have rescued more than 200 entangled whales and sea turtles; conducted groundbreaking research into some of the world’s most endangered whale populations; monitored levels of contaminants in Cape Cod Bay; measured the effects of dynamic ocean processes on our fragile coastline; and educated thousands of visitors and students of all ages about this precious marine environment.
