NASA Rhode Island Space Grant Consortium The NASA RI Space Grant Consortium is dedicated to promoting science, math, engineering and technology at all levels,from K-12 to colleges and universities

The NASA RI Space Grant Consortium goals are: (1) to encourage undergraduate and graduate university students to explore NASA related science research and engineering careers; (2) to use space-related science as a vehicle for enhancing scientific literacy among educators and their students in Rhode Island; and (3) to provide seed grants for NASA-relevant research.

NEXT WEEK: check out these exciting, afterschool Astrobiology workshops at Olneyville Library, Smith Hill Library, South Providence Library, Wanskuck Library and Washington Park Library! Presented by Professor Dawn Cardace and postgraduate student Jess Peluso of the Dept. of Geosciences at University of Rhode Island, these Astrobiology workshops will explore lava caves on Mars, life on Earth.. and maybe life on Mars, too! These workshops are suitable for children 6+ and also include a light meal. The workshops have been made possible thanks to the NASA Rhode Island Space Grant Consortium .

Perseverance has performed it's first drive on Mars!

From the wheel tracks, one can make out what the rover did. It drove forward a few meters, turned-in-place nearly 200 degrees then backwards roughly about a meter and a half. This is actually a very similar profile that Curiosity made during it's first drive on Mars back in August 2012.
