We could not do all we do without our Sponsors✨ We want to thank American Online Giving Foundation which collaborates with Benevity, a technology platform that helps companies and their employees make charitable donations in the most efficient, effective way possible. As we continue to celebrate our 25th anniversary, we want to highlight our amazing team. Just as we cannot do all we do without your support, we cannot serve the children of West Virginia without our team of superstars!

As we continue to celebrate our 25th anniversary and looking for our Silver Donors, our 25 for 25 (25 new monthly donors, to give $25 monthly, for our 25th) we want to highlight WHY becoming a monthly sponsor is a win-win and worthy of your generous support with a WINSday Storytime!

We had a young man who was a reluctant participant in our Kids Run The Nation/BREATHE program. He didn’t initially sign up for it, but during the pandemic the program moved virtual and his mom had him participate to stay active AND he completed his first 5K!

He continued helping with the program as a peer leader. A few years later he and his mom came to work the Alex Aldridge 5K where we encouraged him to run instead- he did-and won!

You’d think that would tell him he had a gift, but instead he played basketball and baseball throughout middle and high school. Until his senior year. Like a lot of seniors he was uncertain about his future, discouraged by his class standing he did not think he was cut out for college. He was exploring trade school and military when his parents reminded him there was no pressure, to take his time and let life unfold. He continued to volunteer with this program and trained as an Assistant Coach, and helped his first team finish their first 5K!

As a gift to his mom he joined the track team that very last semester of senior year. He was a natural at high jump and went to State Championships in the 4x4 event. Then he got a message from a college recruiter. They offered him an athletic scholarship to join their team as a high jumper!

This below average student according to class standings and standardized measures excelled as a college student, making the Presidents List his first semester! He went to indoor track championships for high jump and 4x4, and to outdoor championships for javelin, high jump, and 4x4!

He will continue his education, majoring in Athletic Training so he can help and support students along their education and athletic journeys.

We never know where life and all our experiences will take us. This young man’s time in the basketball court prepared him for high jump, time on the baseball field prepared him for javelin, and his time in this program prepared him to go the distance, to pace himself, and gave him the desire to work with youth and let them know they can to Fly High!

When you sow financial seeds into ChildLaw you are giving kids deep roots through connection and experience so they can spread their wings to Fly High❤️

When we say we are celebrating our 25th anniversary we are not just celebrating the milestone, we are celebrating all the children we have served, all our team-past and present, all our sponsors-past and present, all our community partnerships, our founder, our legal services, and our programming!

We have a lot to celebrate💙🩵

One such program is Teen Court. Teen Court is a juvenile justice diversion program in which offenders between the ages of 13 and 17 are judged by a jury of their peers and offered the opportunity to accept accountability for their minor crimes without having to incur a permanent record.

The program is designed to reduce the number of youth offenders and educate them in a realistic court environment. Since Teen Court’s establishment in March 2001, thousands of teens have taken the opportunity to accept responsibility for their actions and change their behavior.

Teen Court also gives teens who are interested in the judicial system the opportunity to help their peers while gaining first-hand knowledge of the court system. The program offers adult volunteer opportunities as well.

Here we have Mercer County Teen Court at Mercer County Courthouse. These amazing young men and women are learning about our judicial system, offering to be judge, attorney, and jury. But we go much deeper than that. We also teach them life tools, mental and physical health interventions, and leadership skills thanks to local and state funding, as well as generous support from Sisters of St. Joseph Health and Wellness Foundation, and people like you, yes YOU🫵

You can assure this program, and programs like it, not only continue but expand their reach. You can make a one time contribution, become a monthly sponsor, give 25 for 25 ($25 monthly to celebrate our 25th, by going here, https://www.childlawservices.org

As we continue to celebrate our 25th anniversary, we want to highlight our amazing team. Just as we cannot do all we do without your support, we cannot serve the children of West Virginia without our team of superstars!

Tiffany Arnett has been working with ChildLaw Services, Inc. as a victims advocate/office staff. in our
Martinsburg office Prior to working with ChildLaw she worked as a World Language educator for more than 20 years. She speaks Spanish and Portuguese, but enjoys sharing the love of reading with our clients most of all. Representing ChildLaw, she actively volunteers with Read Aloud WV in Berkeley County Schools and always encourages the importance of reading with the children we represent. Additionally, Tiffany’s talents are expressed through her grant writing skills and promoting our First book program to expand the Jane Martin Legacy Library in the Eastern Panhandle. Tiffany believes in our mission and support our Guardian ad Litem attorneys by helping to provide a voice to the children in the cases in which they are involved.

Tiffany is a superstar. And we’re so grateful to have her on our team⭐️
