The Housing Authority of the City of Prichard, Alabama (HACP) came into being under the provisions of the Housing Authorities Act No. 56, approved February 8, 1935 and Act No. 148, approved March 17, 1939, now termed the Code of Alabama of 1940.

The Housing Authority of the City of Prichard proudly celebrated Grandparents Day by bringing together grandparents, grandchildren, and families for a day filled with love, laughter, creativity, and meaningful connections.

Our residents enjoyed spending quality time together through activities including:

One of the most memorable moments of the day came as residents shared treasured stories about their grandparents. From heartfelt family traditions to humorous childhood memories, each story reminded us of the wisdom, love, and joy grandparents bring to our lives.

Grandparents are the heart of many families. Their guidance, love, and life experiences help shape future generations while strengthening the bonds within our community.
At HACP, we believe that creating opportunities for families to connect builds stronger neighborhoods and enriches the lives of residents of all ages.

The Housing Authority of The City of Prichard was honored to attend the Denim👖 and Sparkle ✨✨Day Party, hosted by the City of Prichard Senior Center. Friday, August 28th . 10:30am-1:00pm

It was a day filled with incredible food, music, fellowship, and lots of sparkle! 💎The Senior Center is truly one of the heartbeats of Prichard—providing a vital, joyful space for our seniors to connect and thrive. They do an awesome job, and we love supporting them just as much as they love this community. A special shout out to Ms. Raquel Williams, Senior Aide II, continue the GREAT work you are doing with the seniors !

HACP HOMEOWNERSHIP PROGRAM — WE'RE BACK AT IT!

The Housing Authority of the City of Prichard's Housing Counseling – Homeownership Program, with the support of our amazing Supportive Services Team, is back at it—helping families prepare for one of life's greatest milestones: PURCHASING A HOME!

Our Homeownership Counseling Classes are designed to provide participants with the knowledge, resources, and guidance needed to become mortgage-ready, financially prepared, and successful homeowners.

This month's class featured our wonderful partners from Community Bank, who did a SUPERB job educating and engaging our future homeowners! Their expertise, encouragement, and commitment to financial education added tremendous value to the class, and we are grateful for their continued partnership.

At HACP, we understand that our mission extends beyond providing affordable rental housing. We want to help families create pathways to homeownership, financial stability, generational wealth, and a lasting legacy.

We are preparing families today so they can hold the keys to their own homes tomorrow!

A special thank you to Community Bank, our CEO, Certified Housing Counselor, and our Supportive Services Team for your continued support to our residents.
