As Election Day approaches, the Preston Resident Trooper's Office would like to remind everyone that the polling place in Preston is the Preston Plains Middle School and of the following:
-No fi****ms are allowed on or near school grounds (Gun Free School Zones Act).
-No campaign materials are allowed within 75 feet of any outside entrance in use as an entry to any polling place or in any corridor, passageway or other approach leading from any such outside entrance to such polling place or in any room opening upon any such corridor, passageway or approach. (C.G.S.9-236)
-No clothing worn endorsing political candidates is allowed; however, slogans are authorized providing no candidates name or any “endorsed by" is also on the same article of clothing.
-Always listen to the moderator.

On 5/4/2024 at around 2:30pm an evading car crash took place on Route 165 at the entrance of Flemings in the Town of Preston. A red car fled the scene of the crash heading toward Norwich on Route 165. Anyone with information regarding this case please contact TFC Sulich ( #1001) at the Troop E Barracks in Montville at 860-848-6500.
