Cai Na Capoeira Cai Na Capoeira translates to Join Capoeira, but cai also means to fall. In capoeira & life, we fall.

Our aim is to learn to fall & get back up with grace, & most importantly, enjoy the process! {Collective for Art, Interculturalism & Neurodevelopmental Activities in Capoeira} - Cai Na Capoeira, LLC. At Cai Na Capoeira, we work with capoeira - an Afro-Brazilian resistance art form that incorporates elements of sport, music, martial art and dance into a game of physical dialogue and expression - as

a tool to engage people of all ages and abilities in the principles of cooperation, mutual respect, community building, cross cultural learning, personal discipline and self expression. Our guiding principle is that every individual is capable of exploring and expanding their physical and psychosocial horizons through play, music, activity and community.

On June 11, 1996 I went to my first capoeira class. I’m still here 😂 and still so grateful for the joy, lessons, and guidance that capoeira continues to bring to my life.

Thank you to my master Mestre Esquilo, for teaching me and being my biggest reference and inspiration in capoeira.

My deepest gratitude to all whose paths crossed with mine on this capoeira journey, for bringing opportunities to experience all the good, and the difficult, challenges that help us find clarity as we learn and grow.

A very special thank you to my partners at the Manitou School and FASNY for supporting our program and graduation this year, and also to all the students, parents and friends for participating.
