Scioto County Sheriff David Thoroughman has issued a Level 1 Snow Emergency for Scioto County. A Level 1 Snow Emergency means roadways are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow. Roads may also be icy. Motorists are urged to drive very cautiously.

🎄✨ The Portsmouth Area Jaycees invite everyone to the 87th Annual Christmas Parade! 🎅🎁

On Thursday, December 4th, 2025, at 6 p.m., the streets of Portsmouth will sparkle with holiday cheer! The parade will travel north on Waller Street, west on Gallia Street, and continue onto Fifth Street, ending in the Valley Wholesale Foods parking lot on Market Street.

After the parade, join the fun at Winterfest for the tree lighting ceremony and a meet and greet with Santa Claus! 🎅🌟

🎉 Want to be part of the parade?
Parade lineup begins at 5 p.m. in the Shawnee State University parking lot, and the registration deadline is November 27th.
