⚓ This NMFL for the first week of June highlights military medical professionals at NMRTC Fort Belvoir participating in a joint training event focused on advancing battlefield medicine through integrated technology and innovation.

🩺 Modern operational medicine depends on more than clinical expertise. It requires the ability to rapidly share information, improve situational awareness, and connect medical teams across the battlespace. Training events like this help ensure providers can leverage emerging technologies to make informed decisions and deliver timely care in complex environments.

💡 By bringing together medical personnel, operational partners, and advanced capabilities, these demonstrations help shape the future of expeditionary healthcare while strengthening the readiness of the force today.

⚓ Innovation, interoperability, and training remain critical to ensuring Navy Medicine can support the warfighter whenever and wherever the mission calls.

⚓ This for Memorial Day weekend comes from Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command (NMRTC) // Naval Medical Center Portsmouth honors the service members who gave their lives in defense of our nation.

At the Capt. Ted Conaway Memorial Naval Cemetery, Sailors took part in a flag placing ceremony to pay tribute to the fallen and preserve the legacy of those who served before us. Each flag represents a life of sacrifice, commitment, and service to something greater than self.

🇺🇸 Memorial Day is a time to remember the heroes who never made it home and to reflect on the freedoms their sacrifice helped protect. Across Navy Medicine and the fleet, we remain committed to honoring their memory through continued service and readiness.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget.

🕊️ Readiness is more than physical preparation — it also requires spiritual resilience.

As Navy Medicine continues to strengthen its operational mission, chaplains are helping prepare medical Sailors for the emotional and ethical realities that can follow combat and crisis response. Through practices like the “Blessing of the Hands,” Navy Medicine leaders are reinforcing the importance of spiritual readiness, moral resilience, and caring for those who care for others.

“Spiritual readiness is not a check in the box or a one-time event.” — Capt. David Jeltma, NMFL Chaplain

From operational medicine to combat casualty care, Navy Medicine professionals are often deeply involved in the aftermath of conflict. Preparing the force means preparing body, mind, and spirit.

⚓ This for the week of May 14, 2026 comes to us from Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command (NMRTC) Naval Hospital Pensacola, where Sailors put their training to the test during a Tactical Combat Casualty Care final exercise.

🩺 Through realistic scenarios and high-pressure conditions, corpsmen practiced lifesaving skills used to treat and stabilize casualties in operational and expeditionary environments. Training events like this build the confidence, speed, and decision-making required when every second matters.

💥 From hemorrhage control and patient movement to coordinated trauma response, these exercises help ensure Navy Medicine personnel remain prepared to deliver care in austere and combat settings around the world.

⚓ Readiness is earned through repetition, teamwork, and training that reflects the realities of operational medicine.
