Thread & Theory is an online shop operated by Mainspring Community Food & Clothing Pantry, a nonprofit organization based in Portland, Oregon. The shop sells a small, carefully selected portion (approximately 2–3%) of donated clothing and goods originally received through our free community clothing program, Re-Thread.

All proceeds from Thread & Theory are used to purchase food for Mainspring’s pantry, directly supporting individuals, families, and seniors experiencing food insecurity. While 100% of items in our Re-Thread clothing program remain free to the community, Thread & Theory is a sustainability initiative designed to extend the impact of donated goods and increase access to essential food resources.

Products sold may include gently used clothing, accessories, and select household items.

Thread & Theory operates as a social enterprise, using retail to create measurable community impact by converting donated goods into food support.

Hi y’all! I’d love to see everyone at the Rocky Butte Farmers Market Holiday Market this Saturday. I’m so excited and can’t wait!

Come support local artists and businesses while shopping for holiday gifts—and help a local nonprofit at the same time. Mainspring will be raffling off some big prizes (hint: Pendleton 👀).

Raffle tickets are $5 each or $20 for five—a fun way to give back and stay warm this winter.
