Election Day is tomorrow!

Did you get your ballot mailed or dropped off?

If not, what are you waiting for?

Here in Oregon, we’re lucky to have a voting system that’s easy to participate in.

If you’re not registered to vote, that’s step number one!

You can get registered online, through the mail, or in person at a county office or DMV. In fact, most people are automatically registered to vote at the DMV!

Oregon’s vote-by-mail system is the most convenient in the country—which is why Oregon routinely ranks higher in voter turnout.

Your ballot and voter information guide are delivered right to your home two to three weeks before election day.

Then you can drop your ballot off in one of the many official drop boxes in the area, or mail it back. As long as it’s postmarked before 8 pm on election day, your vote is counted.

How easy is that?!

Do your part for democracy and vote in every election you can—not just the big ones. Local and state governments often have more of an impact on your daily life.

Check out the link in our bio for more voter information.

Are you on the fence about voting?

Maybe you think it doesn't really matter. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Well, we do!

Here are our top 5 reasons to vote:

💥 Elections have consequences. Voting is a chance to stand up for the issues you care about—especially in local elections. Local elections tend to see less voter turnout but affect your day-to-day life much more!

🙋🏻 It's your right! The 15th amendment gave black men the right to vote. The 19th amendment gave women the right to vote. The 24th amendment eliminated the poll tax. The Voting Rights Act made voting accessible to all.

💰 It's your money being spent. We all pay taxes and voting is a way to speak up about where we want our money to go.

📣 Voting is an opportunity for change. Many societal issues like healthcare, housing, and education are decided by voting in all levels—local, state, and national.

🏡 It's good for your community. Our communities are our friends, neighbors, and loved ones. Voting helps shape the kind of community you want to live in.

The House recently passed a set of electoral reforms to clear up ambiguous and archaic language in the presidential certification process, which Trump and his allies tried to use to overturn the 2020 election.

The legislation passed with nine Republicans voting with all Democrats in favor.

The bill would update how Electoral College votes are submitted by states and then counted by Congress, known as the Electoral Count Act.

The legislation would make it more difficult for members of Congress to disrupt the certification process with objections that aren't based on legitimate concerns and would clarify that the vice president's role in counting electoral votes is strictly ministerial.

The vote is now in the hands of the Senate, with bipartisan support!

"What would happen if we lost the vote?"🤔

If our votes don’t matter, politicians will stop caring about what the people want; they won’t need our approval anymore.

We will live in a Dictatorship.

In a true Dictatorship, people are jailed for speaking out, and there is no recourse if you are treated unfairly. 🚫

Dictators tend to enrich themselves and neglect regular people. People who live in dictatorships are miserable.

That's why we need to make sure that EVERY American's vote counts!🇺🇸

New hearing alert!

The House panel investigating last year's attack on the Capitol is back today with its ninth hearing.

We're getting fresh evidence and testimony the committee has received in the months since the last hearing.

We don't know that this is the final hearing, but the committee does have to finish its investigation and final report before Congress ends this term.

We'll be keeping up to date with the committee and its findings!

Follow us and we'll find out together—and go to our link in bio to find out why it matters.

Do you still watch the nightly news?

If so, you may be in the minority.

With fewer people watching standard TV (using more streaming services) and the decline of print newspapers, it's not surprising that social media is where people get their news.

A recent Pew Research study found that over half of American adults get their news mainly from social media—the biggest platforms being Facebook and YouTube, with TikTok quickly rising. 😦

Misinformation on social media is nothing new.

Which is why it's so important to follow and share only reputable sources. If you're not sure where information is coming from, investigate further before taking it as truth. 🤔

We always do our research to bring you the best information we can.

Where do you get most of your news? How do you feel about the misinformation problems associated with social media?

How can corporations influence politicians and elections? 🤔

Corporate campaign contributions can determine who wins an election.

Corporations that fund campaigns can often amplify politicians in the public eye and influence how they make decisions. 😦

Who corporations choose to donate to is a mark of their values.
