Building Stronger Partnerships for Safer Communities
I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to Sheriff Byron Swilley of Copiah County, along with Jail Administrator Charles Cunningham, for hosting and inviting our Jail Administrator, Jerrett Hampton, along with several neighboring counties, to attend their very first meeting focused on establishing a Jail Administrators Association.
This meeting marks an important step forward in strengthening communication, collaboration, and shared best practices among jail administrators across our region and the state. By coming together, we are laying the foundation for a unified approach to addressing the challenges we all face in corrections, while improving operations, safety, and professionalism within our facilities.
Partnerships like these are critical. When we work together, we become stronger, more efficient, and better equipped to serve and protect our communities. This initiative has the potential to grow into a statewide network that will benefit not only our staff but also the citizens we are sworn to serve.
Again, thank you to Sheriff Swilley and Administrator Cunningham for your leadership, vision, and commitment to moving this effort forward. We look forward to continued collaboration and progress in the days ahead.
“Working with and for the people.”
