When a gunman opened fire near the Washington Monument Monday, Mississippi National Guardsmen ran toward danger. Thrilled to see the Navy’s FF(X) frigate program starting fast. FF(X) is a highly producible design with little risk. We’ll be able to build them very quickly. Containerized weapons will allow us to bring new munitions and payloads to bear much faster. As long as we don’t let gold-plated requirements stay in, we will look back on this program as a huge success in five years.

Just announced!

The U.S. Navy has awarded HII’s division a $283 million contract to perform lead yard support for the new FF(X) Frigate class.

This contract allows Ingalls to procure long lead materials, advance design work and begin pre-construction for the first ship.

The new Frigate class will be built alongside current DDG 51 Flight III, LHA, LPD Flight II and Zumwalt class modernization work.

Science, and Transportation passed my Regional Ocean Partnerships Act. This legislation would improve collaboration between communities and their local governments to address coastal issues in their region.
