I would like to express my sincere appreciation for the support and thoughtful gestures that unified our community at the Walleye feast yesterday it was a pleasure to engage in personal discussions with each of you. Thank you for your support.

also with sincere appreciation, I want to acknowledge my family’s commitment, which has served as the backbone for part of this event, I couldn’t tag all of you but you know who you are and I express my heartfelt thanks.

Due to the weather and the utmost respect to the Ponemah Community during a time of grief, I have been holding this off for sometime. I would love to give back to the Ponemah Community and have a Walleye meal.

My name is Delwyn Holthusen, Jr. and my Ojibwe name is “Niiwin Miigwanag” meaning four feathers, my clan is Makwa and I was born and raised in Obaashiing also known as Ponemah, MN. My parents are the late Mildred and Delwyn Holthusen Sr., I recently announced my candidacy and just got certified on Tuesday March 10th to run for Ponemah Representative. I’m humbly asking for your support and vote in the upcoming 2026 election for Ponemah Rep.
I’m committed to strengthening and serving our Community and I’m ready to lead with integrity and certainty in keeping our community strong while maintaining or sovereignty for our future generation of leaders and setting a foundation for future leaders to follow.
