Progress and improvement are happening now at Mason County EMS...
Low Cost Health Insurance: Mason County now pays 95% of EMS employee insurance premiums.
EMS Employee Pay Increases: A $1.00 per hour pay increase in September 2025 was recently followed by a 35% across the board pay increase. This allowed schedule conversion to a 24 hours on/72 hours off model at an overall flat pay scale.
Work Schedule: Full-time employees can now work that 24/72 hour schedule, and only be on-shift 7 days each month.
Professional EMS Management: The Mason County Commission recently partnered with Marshall Health Network and HealthNet Aeromedical Services to bring high-quality, professional EMS management services to the region. This team brings robust knowledge, skill, and experience to our county and will deliver cost savings through their bulk supply and equipment purchase models.
This is just the beginning. Watch for more information about new stations, renovated stations, new equipment, enhanced training and more.
