We had a great 'Chip Chip Hooray' party today at the Veterans Home in Pocatello to wrap up our State Employee Appreciation week. Thanks to the Atomic Potato Chip Company of Arco, Idaho for donating over 20 kinds of fresh homemade chips for our party. Our staff brought in delicious homemade buffalo chicken dip, cowboy caviar, cheese & onion dip and spicy chili dip. It was a great end to a long week!!! And that is NOT our HR specialist that just pulled up a chair to the chip table to sample and rate all the fun flavors. Her favorite was the East Coast Boardwalk Vinegar and Fries! WE LOVE WHERE WE WORK!!!

It’s Idaho State Employee Appreciation week and we have been celebrating for days! Today we had a gourmet Dutch Oven luncheon for our staff on the patio! It was a Smokin' Good Time. We had chicken and brisket, dutch oven potatoes, peach cobbler, pineapple upside down cake, coleslaw, beans, jalapeno corn, lemonade, and all the Fixins. We are so thankful and so proud to be able to care for our Veterans every day. This was a great day to give thanks to our hardworking staff and contractors. Our Employee Appreciation Committee raised all the funds for this event. Thanks to our amazing Financial Technician Jana and her husband Kent for all their amazing cooking and prep for this event. You went above and beyond. We love where we work!

We had a really fun Birthday Party for all the April Birthdays in the Home! We had delicious custom homemade cupcakes, balloons and decorations and amazing volunteers to help serve. Birthdays are always a special time- no matter how many of them you have had! We are soo grateful to have these fun parties every month. You know we will take any excuse for a party!

Our Residents and Veterans, Family and Friends had a great time at our Annual Easter Egg Hunt. The weather was just perfect for an afternoon in the backyard. We were truly blessed. Thanks to our amazing Activities Team for making this happen. It definitely brought a lot of smiles!

In the lead-up to Easter, we had a special Easter Bingo, dyed Easter Eggs and made Deviled Eggs. It was a perfect trifecta! The Home was positively be-deviled with Easter spirit! We love to bring old and new traditions into the Home for our residents. Keeping them happy is our most important job.
