๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Happy Labor Day, Plymouth! ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Today, we celebrate the workers who keep our communities, our Commonwealth, and our country moving forward.

Thank you to the teachers, first responders, healthcare workers, small business owners, tradespeople, public employees, service workers, and everyone who works hard every day to support their families and neighbors.

I hope you have a safe and relaxing Labor Day surrounded by family and friends. Enjoy the long weekend!

Happy Labor Day! ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

On Wednesday, I had the opportunity to attend the Small Footprint Housing Public Forum at Plymouth South Middle School.

It was a great opportunity to learn more about the creative approaches being explored to make better use of our space and address housing needs in Plymouth. Just as importantly, it gave residents an opportunity to share their thoughts and feedback on what kinds of housing they want to see where.

Thank you to everyone who participated and continues to be part of the conversation about the future of housing in our community! ๐Ÿ˜๏ธ

Earlier this week, I had the opportunity to join a discussion with the Health and Human Services Division and other stakeholders to talk about the important work they do, their mission and vision, opportunities for improvement, what they do well, and how they can continue to better serve our community.

As this nearly three-year-old division continues to grow and shape the way it serves Plymouth, conversations like these are incredibly important. I appreciated the opportunity to listen, learn, and discuss how we can continue building on the work already underway.

Thank you to everyone involved for the thoughtful conversation and for your continued commitment to serving our community! ๐Ÿ’™

๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽจ First Fridays in Downtown Plymouth! ๐ŸŽจ๐ŸŽถ

First Fridays are always such a great way to showcase all the things that make Plymouth such a special place to live, work, play and of course visit!

Last night, there was music throughout downtown, the Plymouth Center for the Arts offered art demonstrations and live music, and Pilgrim Hall Museum showcased one of its incredible tapestries that took 2,000 hours to create! It was truly amazing to see.

And, of course, we have all of the wonderful local shops and restaurants that make downtown Plymouth such a vibrant community.

There is always something happening in Plymouth, and we are so lucky to call this place home! โค๏ธ

On Monday, I had the opportunity to attend the Plymouth County Farm Bureau meeting. It is always wonderful to connect with the farmers and agricultural community members who work hard to make sure we have access to locally sourced food.

Supporting our local farms and strengthening our local food system is so important, and I am grateful for the opportunity to learn more about the work happening right here in Plymouth County.

Thank you to the Plymouth County Farm Bureau for welcoming me and for all you do to support our local farmers and our communities! ๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿšœ

Last week, State Rep. Kathy LaNatra and I had the opportunity to help celebrate the birthday of Pilgrim Hall Museum by joining the annual 95.9 WATD FM morning show with Rob Hakala at the Museum.

As always, it was a great event and a wonderful opportunity to talk about the Waterfront Festival, my amazing summer interns, and the important work happening at the State House.

Thank you to Rob, the WATD team, and Pilgrim Hall Museum for the opportunity to join you, and happy birthday to Pilgrim Hall Museum! ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ›๏ธ

๐Ÿšง River Street Closure Update

Please be aware that River Street, in the vicinity of the bridge over Plimoth Patuxet Highway, will remain closed through early September.

This closure is necessary to complete the reconstruction of the bridge deck. Local access will be maintained on either side of the bridge.

We know these projects can be frustrating and appreciate everyoneโ€™s patience while this important work continues. We will continue to share updates as we receive them.
