This week marks the 50th anniversary of EMS week and it starts today and goes until May 29th.

To start off EMS week 2024 the EMS Captain donated 3 gift baskets for three members.

The first gift basket goes to Barbara Oakes for the most duty covered for 2023.

Fun fact the Pleasant Valley Fire District EMS Division rosters a BLS ambulance Sunday-Thursday 9pm to 5am and on Friday - Saturday 9pm-6am. Every individual that does a duty crews give up their nights of sleep to make sure their community is safe.

The second gift basket goes to EMT Wayne Sauer for most calls in 2023

The third and final gift basket goes to Lt. Andrew Ludwig for most calls in 2023 as well.

As the EMS Captain of the Pleasant Valley fire district EMS Division I would like to personally thank every EMT, and also our drivers who've helped provide care to our community. Also I would like to congratulate these three individuals for all the hard work they have put into keeping our community safe.

This morning the PVFD ESS division completed Ice Rescue training. Unfortunately this year we had only a thin layer of ice to work with, BUT the training went extremely well. The PVFD EMS Division completed vitals on members along with playing an important role in ice water rescue by treating a patient once they are extricated from the water. The Division would also like to thank Lieutenant J. Gate’s and M. Long for taking 56-71.

Stop by tomorrow starting at 10am to have a photo taken of your fur babies with Santa. You can even do some Christmas shopping while there with the 25 vendors that will be there. Shop local and think local first.

Earlier this morning the Pleasant Valley fire district had a live burn training at the Dutchess County training center. Pleasant Valley EMS division members checked vitals on the firefighters and also did accountability on members going into the burning building.

Pleasant Valley 56-72 is currently responding mutual aid to the West Clinton Fire district. 56-71 is on standby at Pleasant Valley st.1 for any emergencies in the town of Pleasant Valley.
