We remain focused on collecting stories of our community's housing issues and passing them to the statewide campaign who will present these stories to the state legislature ahead of the May 9 vote to hopefully overturn the ban on rent control. We agreed to commit to housing justice in the beginning of the year as a core issue to put our efforts into. We joined a statewide effort with Homes For All.

There are two ways that you can take action:

1. Join us in Pittsfield this Saturday, 4/30 at 11:15AM-2PM (or any part of that time window). We will be representing our chapter at the Healthy Kids Day, hosted by our gracious friends at the Pittsfield Berkshire Family YMCA at the 1st Street Common. If you have a Berkshires DSA shirt or a red shirt please wear it! If you have your own clipboard and a fully charged phone that can record please bring (we will be documenting people's housing stories with our phones). We will provide directions and flyers, release forms for the public etc. Again, our objective is to collect stores (film, record or transcribe) to send to the state legislature.
