Just a quick post with some exciting facts, and news about where we’re heading.
The West Virginia School Building Authority, has been a strong and valued partner to Harrison County School District. Most recently with a project at Simpson Elementary.
This project was approximately $6 million.
Just as important, not over shadowing this project, the SBA has also awarded Harrison County $3,500,000.00 in matching funds for Bridgeport High School There will be an additional $3,500,000.00 from the board, totaling $7,000,000 of direct investment into the Bridgeport community. Next steps are being looked at to get this project moving
Thank you to the SBA Board of Directors, and Executive Director Andy Neptune for their continued support.

More exciting news to come as we work with all stakeholders, to move this county forward.
We’re going to continue to stay focused, listen, and make things happen.

What’s on my mind??
Well, how about a transformative $5,081,900.00 being invested directly into our community and our youth!!

Yes that’s right. That amount of money is directly funding expansion and renovations RCB High School, City of Clarksburg, WV.
Last night the Harrison County School District’s Board of Education accepted a bid to expand the RCB cafeteria, upgrade systems, and a begin planning next steps for a NEW, aviation sheet metal shop to accommodate a CTE program.
Again, these are pathways that can offer students skills that will get them, not just a good paying job after graduation, but a solid career allowing them to remain here in Harrison County, WV

I’ve said it before and I’ll keep saying it My focus is, and always will be in the best interests of the students and staff of our schools.

Lets keep working hard and showing up to provide the best possible future for the kids and our communities

Another great project for the athletic youth in our county. I look forward to this process to see what Lincoln High School can do for their fundraising.

Tonight, the Board heard a presentation about a fundraising campaign for turf and track replacement at 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗻 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹'𝘀 𝗦𝘁𝘆𝗱𝗮𝗵𝗮𝗿 𝗙𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱.

Principal David Decker requested permission to kick off a campaign to replace the field turf and resurface the track. The next steps would include gathering detailed quotes and returning to the Board with a budget plan and funding request as needed.

What a great surprise from last nights meeting. I am proud to support this proposal for South Harrison High School.
I wish to sincerely thank Hope Gas for their generous commitment to the turf Project and becoming a partner with Harrison County School District to provide support for creating a skilled workforce setting students up for success beyond the classroom.
This is what progress looks like— creating pathways, & partnering with the community for the betterment of our youth. This allows our students the opportunity to find important meaningful careers, close to home so they can thrive in Harrison County, WV.

Thank you to Morgan O’Brien, Scott Wallace, Frank Tate and Adam Belcastro.

I got an interesting question this week. I was talking with someone, and they asked me “Why do you want to continue to serve”, not the general, why are you running To me the question was more about the value in serving others. Not an agenda of action items to be accomplished.

That was a great question.

I didn’t get involved in the BOE for politics. This is a non partisan position. It should be an apolotical job, leaving the politics at the curb, to accomplish and create opportunities and outcomes all children

I got involved because I believe deeply in kids—and in the power of a strong public school system.
Public education is an equalize. It affords ALL kids the chance to learn and grow.

Over the years, I’ve sat in long meetings, had tough conversations, and made hard decisions. Let me tell you not all of them were popular—but they were made with students in mind.

I’ve seen firsthand how the right support can change a student’s path. How strong special education services matter. How safe schools matter. How FEEDING kids MATTERS. How thoughtful leadership matters.

That’s why I keep showing up. Because our kids deserve adults who take this responsibility seriously.

My promise and commitment is this. I’ll keep keep listening, I’lll keep showing up, and I’ll keep fighting for every student’s future.

I am announcing my intention to file to run for re-election in the May 2026 election.

Serving on the Harrison County Board of Education is both an honor and a responsibility—one I have never taken lightly.

I have had the privilege of working alongside educators, families, and community members who care deeply about our students.

Every decision, every vote, and every hard conversation has been guided by one central question: What’s best for our students?

During that time, I have listened. I have learned. And I have worked every day to make decisions grounded in that guiding principle.

Together, we have made real, tangible progress.

• We improved district test scores.
• We maintained fiscal responsibility while protecting classrooms.
• We reduced the burden of the five-year levy—proof that accountability and smart stewardship matter.
• We implemented programs that strengthened instruction, expanded opportunity, and supported student success.
• We implemented stronger, safer security measures and safeguard monitors district-wide.

But accomplishments only matter if they translate into better outcomes for kids.

Students have been—and will continue to be—the center of my service. Their growth. Their safety. Their education. Preparing them not just to graduate, but to succeed in life.

Public education is changing, and leadership must be steady, thoughtful, and grounded in reality. We must continue improving academic performance, protecting safe learning environments, and ensuring every dollar spent delivers value to students and taxpayers alike.

I am running again because the work isn’t finished—and because our students deserve leaders who stay focused, ask hard questions, and put their needs first every single time.

Thank you for the trust you have placed in me. I would be honored to receive your suoport in May, and promosr to continue the work—for our students, our schools, and our community.
