On Thursday, Pittsburgh Public Safety Department Director Sheldon Williams, Zone 3 Sergeant Andrew Robinson, and Pittsburgh City Council: District 3 Councilmember Bob Charland handed out 180 free steering wheel locks at Venson Park in Beltzhoover in an effort to reduce vehicle thefts.

The event was organized in conjunction with the Hilltop Alliance, thanks to a generous donation by Erie Insurance.

In addition to receiving a free lock, community members learned some additional tips from police on how to further protect their vehicles from would-be thieves.

Help protect your vehicle and curb local car thefts. Join Councilman Bob Charland, District 3 leadership, Hilltop Alliance, and our Zone 3 officers for a Steering Wheel Lock Drive.

Thanks to a generous donation from Erie Insurance, free steering wheel locks will be available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.

Zone 3 officers and the Pittsburgh Fire Department (not pictured) spent time at the recent Carrick Community Day.

This event provided a wonderful opportunity for our local Public Safety personnel to engage directly with residents and build stronger community connections.

As an extra special touch, the Zone 3 officers who attended are also proud Carrick alumni, making their participation even more meaningful.
