A McKeesport man pleaded guilty to a charge of theft of government property and was ordered to pay a judgment to the U.S. of $425,000 after he removed and sold parts from a helicopter that had been donated to a museum. The General Services Administration Office of Inspector General investigated.

Troy Rivetti has been appointed by the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pa. to serve as the United States Attorney for the District, effective May 28, 2026. Rivetti was sworn in yesterday afternoon.

Today, U.S. Attorney Troy Rivetti presented former Pittsburgh Bureau of Police officer Daniel Mead with a Hometown Hero Award in conjunction with for his bravery & dedication during the Tree of Life Synagogue shooting.

"On the morning of October 27, 2018, Officer Mead walked directly into the line of fire in fulfillment of his sworn duty to uphold the law and protect his fellow citizens. Today, we honor him. He is Pittsburgh’s Hometown Hero.”
