Got to celebrate Arbor Day with a ceremonial tree planting at Robert E. Williams Park with my family.

It’s pretty cool to think about how these trees will still be here when my kids grow up, and that they’ll get to come back years from now with their families and see what they helped create.

🚧 Bigelow Boulevard Outbound Closed Sunday Morning for Forestry Maintenance 🚧

The outbound lane of Bigelow Boulevard will be closed from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM on Sunday, April 12, 2026 while DPW Forestry crews perform tree removal from Herron Ave to the Bloomfield Bridge.

During this time, the outbound lane will be closed to vehicular traffic except for emergency vehicles and buses. Motorists are advised to seek an alternative route.

Stopped by Avenu today, a coworking space for tech innovators, then joined Innovate PGH partners on Craig Street to see Oakland’s innovation economy in action with Pittsburgh City Council District 8 Councilmember Strassburger and Pittsburgh City Council: District 3.
