Today, we remember the lives lost, the heroes who answered the call and the families forever changed by the tragic events of September 11, 2001.

This year, a tribute painted on the lawn at Lock 9 Park offers our community a visible reminder to pause, reflect and remember.

At the Piqua Fire Department, Mike O'Donnell continues his own annual tradition of remembrance. O'Donnell, who served as a volunteer firefighter in Covington for 36 years before retiring, stands outside the fire station each September 11 to reflect on the lives lost and help ensure their memory is never forgotten.
