60 YEARS… and he still got choked up. 😭❤️

Some ceremonies are big and elaborate. And some are small, personal, and so full of love that you feel every second of them.

Today was the second kind. 🥹

I had the absolute privilege of renewing Chris & Linda’s vows after 60 YEARS of marriage. My Uncle Jimmy, one of my dad’s longtime friends, asked me to be part of this incredibly special family moment—and what an honor it was.

There was no need for anything extravagant. Just a small gathering of people who love them, a husband and wife holding hands, and 60 years of life together standing behind those vows.

And then Chris got choked up. 😭

After 60 years, he still got emotional standing there with his bride.

That says more about love and marriage than I ever could.

Because Chris & Linda didn’t just say their vows.

They lived them. For six decades. ❤️

Today they simply held hands, looked at one another, and said “I still do.”

Happy 60th Anniversary, Chris & Linda. 🥂💍 Thank you for allowing me to be part of something I will never forget.

And Uncle Jimmy, thank you for trusting me with such a special moment for your family. ❤️

This is what being a wedding officiant looks like behind the scenes. ❤️

Yesterday, I spent over an hour on the phone with a beautiful bride whose vows I have the privilege of helping renew. I take copious notes during these conversations because I don’t want to simply know when you met or how long you’ve been together.

I want to know your story.

The laughter. The hard seasons. The prayers. The moments that changed everything. The reason you still choose one another.

Well… this particular bride basically handed me a novel. 😂❤️

As I sat here this morning preparing for another wedding, surrounded by pages and pages of notes, I couldn’t help but smile. Her story is such an incredible testimony that I’m pretty sure we’re going to have to turn the full version into a book — because if I put everything into the ceremony, we’d all be there until dinner. 😂
