Reginald Thomas Statement from New Era Dayton…While the details of the case are varied and complex, one fact is relevant and clear. There are some laws currently on the books that lead minor issues to justify attacks on the marginalized. There was a case in Cincinnati where a Black man was stopped and killed by police for a missing front license plate. Due to that traumatic incident, laws were changed to decriminalize a missing front plate. Conversely, Reginald Thomas should have never been stopped and frisked about a missing front bike light. We stand with his family for justice!
