We’re getting ready for another fun and informative tour season in the Great Smoky Mountains. Not only will you enjoy the splendid scenery but you will hear interesting facts about nature, local history and our own little angel, Dolly Parton. We’ll visit the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and take the less traveled back roads through Dolly’s childhood mountain community.

Over the past few weeks, throughout winters last stand, we have enjoyed seeing Springtime slowly making its way to the mountain tops. We now look forward to a brand new sightseeing season in the Great Smokies.
Thank you for being a friend!

Winter has been hanging around in the higher elevations of our Tennessee Smoky Mountains but we also see wild flowers blooming and “spring green” returning to the foothills. This time of year always shows us the wonderful variety in Mother Nature.

We took our first Mountain Memory tour of 2018 in hopes that we wouldn’t encounter any winter weather. Oh well... it snowed! The National Park closed the mountain road.
Anyway... Lyn, Ted and our wonderful tour guests had a great time walking in the snow. Knoxville’s WBIR local news 10 couldn’t resist interviewing some of the folks.

Monday's storm forced the National Park Service to close Newfound Gap Road, limiting access to a heavily traveled section of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Many of our Mountain Memory Tour friends and followers are Dolly Parton fans. Dolly is leading the charge to help those effected by the tragic fires in our Smoky Mountain area. We are blessed to have her unwavering support.
I had the pleasure of meeting Dolly Parton almost 30 years ago. She sat next to me on a bale of hay as we took a cast photo for the "Smoky Mountain Song" musical production at Dollywood. I looked at her and winked as I pointed to my cheek. She leaned over and kissed me without hesitation leaving a big red lip impression on the side of my face. As I smiled she licked her fingers and immediately started rubbing the lipstick off. I protested but it was too late. The lipstick was gone... but I still have that great memory. I thought she was angelic back then. Sweet, witty and bubbly.
Today, as many are coming to realize, Dolly is truly a living angel. She has done more good things through the years than anyone will ever know. She continues to give.
Many of my friends have lost their homes and possessions. I was fortunate in that I still have my place.
Dolly is again shining and giving.
A couple of years back I wrote a sincere tribute song for Dolly Parton and I was blessed to be able to sing it to her in person. Afterward she came over to me and kissed my check again. It was a humbling highlight in my life. Oh, and she didn't rub it off.
I sang and recorded the song with the help of many talented individuals and just wanted to share "Little Butterfly" a tribute to Dolly, with all of you.

My Tribute to Dolly Parton with various photos that span her musical career. The Butterfly is the delicate symbol that is associated with Dolly and it's only...

We want to thank everyone for their special thoughts and prayers as we begin the healing process. We morn for our tragic losses but mountain folks are resilient and the rebuilding has already started. Certain areas of our Great Smoky Mountains were tarnished by fire but Mother Nature will be rejuvenating as soon as spring arrives.
Come see us again in 2017.
We wish you a Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year.
