It’s been a fun and busy year in the SCE Media Center!! We have read, researched, experimented, created, worked together, published, played and laughed!! There have been lots of proud smiles this year… that’s been my favorite part of all!! 💜

Please help SCE Library congratulate the 4th grade students who completed the Newbery Challenge this year… it’s no easy task!! Isabel D., Brian B., Olivia B., Finn E., Doaa C. and Bailey S. Each student read 10 Newbery Medal books and wrote a summary on each one. Their names are engraved on the coveted Newbery Plaque that hangs in the media center! They were treated to a pizza lunch with Mrs. T and goodie bags for all their hard work! Readers are LEADERS!!!Congratulations! 💜

Right to Read Week, Family Night and Book Fair all in one week!! To say it was a “successful” week is quite an understatement!! The theme this year… “Reading Takes You Places!” Our entire school was decorated in different fictional places and fun was had by all! We kicked it off with a performance from “Seussical the Musical” featuring PLSD high school students! Thank you to all of our “guest readers” who came to classes and shared a book! And thank you to EVERYONE who attended SCE Family Night… THE best night of the year!!!

Please help SCE congratulate 4th grader Bailey S. on completing The Million Word Challenge! She is the third student to achieve the accomplishment this year! Bailey read many books and said her favorites were “Slime for Dinner,” “Katie the Catsitter” and “Claudia and the Bad Joke.” Congrats Bailey!! 📚
