March is Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, a time where we recognize the importance of creating communities where every individual is valued, supported, and given the opportunity to thrive. At St. Edmond's Home for Children, that commitment is part of everyday life.

Residents are supported around the clock by a dedicated team of nurses, direct support professionals, and physical therapy aides who assist with daily needs while building trust and comfort. At the same time, life at St. Edmond’s is filled with joy. From games and celebrations to personalized bedrooms and time spent in the therapeutic pool, each day offers opportunities for residents to express themselves and simply have fun.

We had some helpful 7th graders from Mother of Providence Regional Catholic School visit our Delaware County Family Service Center this week! Students made over 100 PB&J sandwiches for their Chester neighbors. 👏

Our 7th grade students put their faith into action during their service trip to Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia in Chester. Together, they worked as a team to make 133 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for local patrons in need.

We are so proud of our students for living out our mission of service, compassion, and community. Small acts of kindness can make a big difference! 💙🥪

March is National Social Work Month, a time to recognize the professionals who walk with others through life’s challenges with compassion and care. Through the School Social Work Program, Catholic Charities of Philadelphia partners with the Archdiocese of Philadelphia Schools - AOPS to place social workers in six Archdiocesan high schools: Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls, Father Judge High School, West Catholic Preparatory High School, Ss. John Neumann and Maria Goretti High School, Monsignor Bonner & Archbishop Prendergast Catholic High School, and St. Hubert Catholic High School for Girls.

At Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls, Tamika Newton creates a safe space for students to be heard, helping them navigate difficult moments, and reminding them that their strength comes from the Lord.

Because our kids matter — and so does the work of those who serve them every day.
