One of my recommendations for Commonwealth Court. On May 16, vote for Todd Eagen. He'll make a great judge!

Attorney Todd Eagen has dedicated his law practice to representing unions and working men and women. A partner at Welby, Stoltenberg, Cimballa & Cook, LLC.

Current ratings of the Philadelphia Bar Association for judicial candidates in the upcoming primary election.

The Philadelphia Bar Association, founded in 1802, is the oldest association of lawyers in the United States. It is a keystone in the ongoing developments of the Philadelphia and Pennsylvania legal systems.

On Friday, March 17, a lottery was held in Harrisburg for the drawing of ballot positions for the upcoming primary election on May 16. Unfortunately the luck of the Irish was not with me, as I pulled #30 (which translated into ballot position #29). Judicial elections are mostly but not all about ballot position, and #29 is just not a great position with 48 candidates running.

In 2015, I stuck with it to the end, but I learned during that experience that winning a judicial election in Philadelphia with a poor ballot position and without an endorsement from the Democratic City Committee is a nearly insurmountable task.

So, it is with regret that I must withdraw from the upcoming judicial election on May 16. God willing, I will be back in 2019. In the meantime, thank you for your support.

P.S. Watch this page closely, as I will be recommending a slate of candidates for Common Pleas Court and Municipal Court as we get closer to election day.

Welcome to the page for my candidacy and campaign for judge of the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas. Please “like” this page and return for updates on campaign news and events, and the progress of the campaign.

The primary election is on Tuesday, May 16, 2017.

Here is some of my personal and professional background. I am married with two children, a 18-year-old daughter and a 16-year-old son. I have been a resident of Philadelphia since 1990, and am now a resident of East Falls where we have lived since 1998. My parish is St. Bridget Church in East Falls.

I am a graduate of St. Joseph’s Preparatory School (1979), Georgetown University (1983), and Temple University Beasley School of Law (1986).

I have been a practicing lawyer for more than 27 years. I currently practice at Jacoby Donner, P.C., a small law firm specializing in construction law and public contract law. For the past 11 years, I have represented numerous clients in business and construction disputes, have frequently appeared in court, and have served as an appointed arbitrator with the American Arbitration Association.
Before Jacoby Donner, I was an attorney with the City of Philadelphia Law Department for 13 years, serving in four different capacities. While at the City, I represented various City departments and agencies in a variety of matters, appearing regularly in the federal and state courts. Before joining the City in 1992, I worked as an associate attorney at a large Philadelphia-based law firm, Wolf Block Schorr and Solis-Cohen, where I assisted on litigation involving commercial and contract disputes. After my graduation from Temple Law School in 1986, I served as a law clerk to a judge on the Superior Court of Pennsylvania for two years, from 1986 to 1988.

If elected judge, I will bring a wealth of experience and qualifications to the bench, along with fairness and integrity.
Thank you for your interest and support.

Dear Facebook friends,

Thank you for your support during this long journey. Although I did not get enough votes (16,908 at last count) to win a seat on the Court of Common Pleas, the journey to Election Day was worth it. While the process was stressful and exhausting, I managed to have some fun along the way, I met some great people and made some new friends on the campaign trail, I learned a lot about the political process and Philly ward politics, and I am now primed to try again in two years. I could not have made it this far without your support for and your interest in my campaign.

Thank you again.

On the eve of election day, I met my brother Mark McCabe at 12th & Locust Streets to meet and greet voters and diners on the street and at Knock. I even persuaded Knock to put up some of my campaign posters! I can feel the momentum.

The day before Election Day and another busy day! Greeted commuters from 6:30 am to 9:00 am at the Mt. Airy train station on SEPTA's Chestnut Hill East line. Then dropped off campaign materials with key supporters. In late afternoon, I headed to the Kevin Dougherty for PA Supreme Court and Jim Kenney rally at the Edward O'Malley Athletic Association at Front & Moore. It was a great chance to meet and greet more voters, and other candidates, and push the Dougherty-Kenney-McCabe trifecta idea!

It was great to see Kevin Dougherty for PA Supreme Court, Jim Kenney, John Dougherty of IBEW Local Union 98, Ron Donatucci, Councilman Ed Neilson, Blondell Reynolds Brown, and Anthony Gallagher of Steamfitters Local Union 420.
